Privacy

Kaastle is a game for learning music. We keep as little about you as the game needs, we don’t sell it, and we don’t show ads.

Your microphone

When you play into your microphone, the sound is analysed in your browser to find the note. Audio is never recorded, stored or sent to us or anyone else.

Your progress and your account

Your practice history, decks, collection, settings, best score and language are kept in your browser. They are also saved to our server under a random account number, so they’re safe if your browser is cleared. Until you add an email, that account holds no personal details. Your practice history includes each answer you give: what was asked, whether it was right, how long it took, and whether you played it or tapped it on screen. We use it to choose your next questions and show your progress.

If you add your email to keep your progress across devices, we store the email and use it only to send sign-in codes. One cookie, kaastle_session, keeps you signed in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

Email updates

If you sign up for news, we store your email, your language and what you signed up for. We only write once you’ve confirmed, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

Feedback

When you send feedback we store your message, your rating, the email you give (if any), the page, your browser and the game version, and your account number if you have one.

Crash reports and visits

When the game crashes, an error report goes to Sentry: the error, the page, and your browser and operating system. We don’t attach your account or email. Sentry may see your IP address as part of the connection.

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t follow you across sites.

Where it’s kept

The game and its database run on Cloudflare. Sign-in and news emails are sent through Resend. Cloudflare keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses, to run and protect the service.

Deleting your data

Your browser’s own copy stays until you clear the site’s data in your browser.

The rules for playing are in the terms.
